It was raining – no, pouring – when I headed to Spa 901 Fernie to meet up with Jillian. I’d been checking the weather all week and the day’s forecast said rain. And lots of it. All day. The girls didn’t seem too concerned about the weather but I kept a watchful eye outside as rain danced on the patio furniture like no one was watching. Why is everyone being so cool about this? Ah, right. They’re from Saskatchewan. ‘Nuff said.
As we moved through the getting ready part of the day, wrapped up in details and all things pretty, we noticed it had stopped raining. Well, I noticed. I don’t know how it happened but we didn’t see any rain the rest of the day. Except during the ceremony while we were tucked inside the Knox United Church and during the reception at the Fernie Golf and Country Club while everyone was sipping cocktails and admiring mountain views through the window. Lucky, I know. During the afternoon, we even sent the wedding party to The Brickhouse to grab a table incase we got rained out. But lucky for them they were able to relax and grab a beer while I stole Jillian and Keith for Downtown Fernie photos.
Thanks for such a fun day, Jillian and Keith! I’m glad you picked Fernie as your destination wedding and I hope you and your family and friends all had a great time in the mountains. See you on the Hill!
